About Bronwyn

I'm a visual artist, writer, mother, community builder, priestess, dancer, visionary, and master of reinvention. The unifying thread in a life of constant creative change has been my work with women. Vivid Menopause, created with Annagrace Kaye, is a labor of love and the culmination of decades of intimate circle work with women. It has been my privilege to spend my life so far mentoring women as we reclaim the power of our own stories, our own bodies, our own beauty.

  1. What a wonderful conversation!! So much resonance for me in this dialog.

I wrote about Feminine Leadership and power on my blog today, so the discussion about power is very active in my mind right now. Regarding power, I really appreciate Starhawk’s discussion on the three types of power: “Power-over is linked to domination and control; power-from-within is linked to the mysteries that awaken our deepest abilities and potential. Power-with is social power, the influence we wield among equals.”

I think the awakening of and reclaiming of desire during the midlife is connecting with the power-from-within… and this rising up of empowered peri/post menopausal women re-claiming power-from-within and sharing this with other midlife women power-with.

Thanks so much for this podcast. It’s always a treat for me to hear Lianne speak, and a pleasure to “meet” you both Bronwyn and Annagrace <3

    • Hi Kristina, thanks so much for listening and for your thoughtful comment. Starhawk’s model of power was so important to me as I was forming my own identity as a woman and a feminist back in my young twenties. I definitely feel I am stepping into a new kind of “power-with” as I step into my role as elder. Now… going over to read your blog post on leadership!
