This Month at Vivid – Take Heart

Welcome to February. Can we start the New Year now? I know I’m not the only one who watched January come and go, waiting patiently for that fresh bright New feeling that never came.

I think it’s finally here. This morning clear sunlight spilled into the house, illuminating the dusty corners and brightening the translucent fleshy petals of the pink tulips which had begun to droop and drape over the edge of their porcelain vase. I woke up late and groggy, having been up until two with Annagrace who is here for our bimonthly Vivid Planning Retreat (for inside peeks at our planning retreats, check out #ladybusiness2015 and #ladybusiness2016 on Instagram!) We had so much to talk about we just couldn’t get to bed. We talked and laughed late into the the night, nibbling on gluten free crackers, grapes and cheddar, and finishing off a good bottle of organic California chardonnay. We have glorious Vivid plans for ourselves and all of you this year. We are dreaming up retreats in Santa Barbara in September, and Costa Rica next February. We are expanding our work on the blog, starting this month with a couple of new columns, one on peri-menopause, one on menopause wellness. We’ll be inviting more guests in, both to write posts, and to talk to us on the Vivid Conversations podcast. And we are growing the Vivid community in every way we can, because your story belongs. We are particularly excited about our new Facebook group, Vivid Community, which is a vibrant virtual circle for women in midlife and beyond who wish to connect, share, and celebrate their Vivid Lives. We would love for you to join us there. There is already a lot of juicy vivid conversation happening!

We have chosen the theme of Take Heart for February at Vivid. We wanted to give a nod to the traditional February theme of hearts and roses, but with a twist. We are thinking about the origins of the word Heart. We are thinking about the core and essence of things. We are thinking about courage and compassion and living from our centre. What does it mean to you to take heart? What is it about midlife and menopause that has broken open your centre, called upon your courage, brought you into contact with the essence of things? That’s what we will be exploring this month, and we’d love to hear your voice. Join us here in the comments, or in our Facebook community.

XO Love
