Sensory Weekend: Belonging

For your cozy weekend, which hopefully includes lots of space for tea and blankets, perhaps a conversation with someone who helps you remember your value, maybe a leisurely dinner or brunch, we’ve collected some images of beauty and rest on this specially curated Pinterest board. Do you notice the simplicity in these pictures? I didn’t choose them with that in mind–it just happened. Now that I think of it, though, there is something so restful and loving in essentials: teacups and books, soft sheets and rumpled pillows, evening light falling through a window. At menopause and midlife we often find ourselves looking for a new kind of belonging that’s both more deeply rooted and also father reaching. I hope this inspires some dreaming and desiring. We’ll be adding to this board throughout the month. Keep checking back!

On Spotify we’ve created a gorgeous, emotive playlist, perfect for supporting your heart and soul in the early morning, and equally at home on a firelit evening. I’ve been playing this every day this week and loving the soothing mix of words and sounds. It even softens the constant noise of my neighborhood’s autumn leaf blowers, and that is no small thing to my quiet-loving heart.

We hope these words and pictures comfort and tend the deepest longings of your heart.
